10 Guaranteed Steps to Lose Weight Using the Law of Attraction

You need to understand the law so the law will work for you.

“The only thing standing in the way of your ideal body weight is your belief that you are struggling to get there.”

That was the advice that turned my fitness journey around and changed my life just a few years ago. I tried diet pills, meal plans, and exercise DVDs to lose weight. I tried beating my body at the gym, drinking detox teas and fasting once a month. A few pounds would come off only to come back after a few weeks.

Then one day, after researching the Master Cleanse Diet, I tried drinking one quart of salty water. Of course, it was another failure, I couldn’t keep it down.

I called my coach, crying and desperate for help. I was ready to give up on trying to lose weight.

My coach must have known I’ve reached a turning point because he told me the one truth that needed to hear that day: I had misunderstood the Law of Attraction.

I visualized the body I wanted, and I believed I could get what I want. But when my ideal body didn’t manifest, I felt desperate and decided that the Law of Attraction doesn’t work.

My coach reminded me that day exactly how the Law worked.

  1. The Law of Attraction matches your emotional energy. You will notice things and experiences that are a match to how you feel.
  2. Emotion arises from your thoughts. If you think that losing weight is difficult, you will constantly struggle. The Law of Attraction will show you experiences that confirm your belief.
  3. The Law of Attraction manifests effortlessly. Follow the path of least resistance, and you will start to see the results you want. When you struggle to achieve something, you will come up against more challenges.

The AHA moment for me was this: I could enjoy the process of losing weight, or I could kick and scream while feeling like a victim of my weight. Either way, the Law of Attraction will continue to give me things that match how I feel. 

Just when I was about to give up, the Universe sent someone to help me, and so I’m paying it forward today. In this article, I am going to share the exact step by step process I learned from my coach that helped me lose the weight and kept it off. Understanding the Law of Attraction has helped me maintain my weight today.

The 10-Step Weight Loss Strategy Using The Law of Attraction

Act and feel as though you already have the health and body that you want. 

You may have heard some Law of Attraction gurus say these words: Do. Be. Have.  This is what they actually mean: How would you feel when you have what you want? How would you feel when you fit into those skinny jeans? How would a healthy person decide between processed food and a salad for lunch?

Model your behavior on how someone in great health would think and act. Imagine what a healthy body will allow you to do and what decisions you would make if you were that healthy person. Then, just do it.        

Spend 10 minutes daily, visualizing your future self.

It seems difficult to imagine how you would feel about something that hasn’t happened yet. That’s why visualization is so important. Visualization simulates the feelings of already having the health and body that you don’t have yet.

The Law of Attraction moves through space and time using emotional energy. Physical beings, like us, can create this energy through our thoughts. When you focus on the face of someone you love, you feel immense joy. When you think about something you hate doing, you feel upset.

So focus only on images that make you feel good. If imagining yourself wearing that beautiful dress makes you feel good, then keep thinking of that.

Tune in to your hunger. 

When you are hungry, don’t ignore it or worry that you can’t stop eating. Tune in to your hunger and ask yourself if you need food or need to feel good. If you’re depressed and reaching for food to feel better, the Law of Attraction will give you more of the same experience.

You can break the pattern of emotional overeating by paying a little more attention to how you feel. Recognize that sometimes, hunger is not about the need for food. Establish self-discipline. Control your cravings. Eat healthy fillers or snacks like cucumber. Be creative.

Change how you feel about your environment.

The food in your kitchen, the places you go to for lunch, and the things you do for fun — all of these experiences affect how you feel. Think about what your weekend looks like and ask yourself if what you do in your spare time supports your desire to be healthy. Look at the food stored in your pantry and ask yourself how you feel after you eat them. If certain foods make you feel guilty, just get rid of it, so you don’t have to resist eating it.

Change your expectations about your weight.

Are you constantly worried about how food affects your weight? Spend some time thinking about that and notice the emotional energy you are putting out. Your desire to lose weight and your actions must be in alignment. In other words, you can’t lose weight if you’re obsessing about it daily. I’m not saying don’t track your weight. Rather, ask yourself this: how do you feel each time you step on the scale?

Practice gratitude daily.

Law of Attraction teachers preach this all the time because it works: when you feel grateful, there is no space for fear. Fear and worry about your weight will only bring more of the same feelings.

To shift your emotions from fear to joy, think about what you’re thankful for. You may not be at your ideal weight yet, but you have the chance to do something about it today. Be grateful for that, and find more things to be grateful for every day.

Create a list of things that will instantly shift your mood.

Science has established that there’s a link between weight gain or weight loss and depression. We turn to food for comfort, and it’s hurting us.

Give your mood a boost by turning to a list of things that make you happy. Prepare a list of 10, 20, or 100 things that you love. Meditate on each one and observe how your mood shifts.

Change your inner voice.

Positive affirmations are statements that help you overcome negative self-talk. Start to talk to yourself positively. Appreciate your body, notice the things you love about yourself, and pat yourself on the back for taking steps to achieve a healthy weight. 

Remember that emotion arises from thoughts. You can make a conscious decision to pay attention only to supportive inner self-talk.

Act in the direction of your goals without any effort.  

The Law will deliver an exact match to how you’re feeling. When you struggle for something, guess what? You will constantly feel that you are having a hard time achieving what you want.

Let go of any resistance to eating the right food. Let go of any resistance to your exercise routine. Let go of any habit that doesn’t make you feel good. If going to the gym, leaves you unhappy, change it. Exercise must keep you excited to do it again the next day.

Be kind to yourself.

How do you feel when you see other people in great shape? There is no competition between you and other people. The only thing that matters is that you feel good about yourself. The Law of Attraction will give you a vibrational match to how you’re feeling, so your only goal is to keep reaching for the things that make you feel good, and the rest will follow.
