Everyone Struggles, You’re Not Alone, Just Keep on Going

Sometimes you just need it to hear from someone to feel inspired

I have been writing daily for years.

I love to write. Yet, every once in a while the struggle to write never left me.

There are days when I feel inspired, and words come out spontaneously.

There are days when I find myself staring at a blank page and I couldn’t come up with anything.

And there would be days I don’t even want to open my PC.

When I look at writers online; those who write and publish each day without fail, I stand in wonder, “how the hell do they do it.”

I convinced myself that great writers don’t struggle. Which led me to believe that no matter how hard I pursue my craft, I would never reach their level of spontaneity.

I don’t make my living writing. But I thought it would be fun if I could develop the habit and discipline to write like the professionals do.

So, I have kept asking myself, “do successful writers don’t struggle at all?”

One day I finally found my answer.

I bought a course on writing from a well-known writer online.

He’s making a living from his blog and publishes each day. Aside from his blog posts, he guest posts and, sends newsletter to his subscribers weekly.

In one of the videos that I watched, the author mentioned in passing that writing is at times a struggle.

It caught my attention. That statement finally awakened me.

I’m not different, I thought. Here is a man who has been writing and publishing each day for the last number of years.

Yet, even with his solid writing experience, he admits that he struggles.

I finally realized everyone struggles.

James Clear in his book “Atomic Habits” (which I highly recommend) mentioned that even a habit that has been functioning for years may one day collapse.

But what you do after that one day is what matters most. Miss another day and the original habit is now being replaced by a new one.

This applies to all activities and routines in your life not only writing.

I face the same challenge when I get up each morning to jog. There are days I would find myself dragging my feet.

If a day comes and a part of you holds you back, muster the strength to keep going.

It’s what you do at the moment of struggle that will differentiate you from the novice and amateurs. The amateurs might skip but the pros will not unless it’s out if their control.

The next time struggle for the next blog post, sit and force yourself to write.

If you wake up and feel sleepy to hit the road, drag your feet and get out.

Do everything at your disposal to keep going. Don’t allow laziness to hold you back.

In case you miss a day, don’t allow yourself to miss twice. Once you’ve done it, it would be easier to fight the next struggle.

Then people will see your consistency and accomplishments and wonder, “how the hell does he or she do it?”

If It Doesn’t Resonate, Keep Learning It, Stick to It Until It Makes Sense

I never fully understood the book “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill when I first read it.

For me the writing was boring. It was dull and the stories in the book never sparked any inspiration whatsoever.

But nevertheless, I finished the book and passed it along to my brother who would become wealthy in the next few years.

Even though I never fully understood it, I practiced what it taught. It worked in some areas in my life, but it was a hit and miss. And I could probably attribute the good things that happened to luck.

As years passed, I picked up the book once again in one of my lowest points in life. For whatever reason I read it again.

I was waiting for something inspiring or magical to happen but nothing transpired. I couldn’t believe about the wonderful stories this book has generated over the years.

Then one day something happened…

I got hold of the book by Monica Main, The Lost Secret: Unlocking the Hidden Chapters of Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich. After reading the first few chapters, Napoleon’s book became crystal clear, I finally understood it.

When you don’t understand something, yet it keeps on calling you, it’s time to face it and learn what it is. The thought of what the book promises has never left me since I first got hold of it.

Yet even with my fullest efforts, I could not digest what it was really trying to say to me. But I never let go. I know from my gut feeling that this book will help me reach my full potential and it did.

Haven’t I stuck with it, I could have never discovered the teachings behind it. I wouldn’t be reaping the great rewards that I am now experiencing. Since then, I applied this strategy in other areas of my life.

It may not be a book, it can be a philosophy or a lesson. It can be teaching or it can be an inspiration. If you don’t fully understand it, look at it from a different perspective.

A single topic can be presented and taught in many ways. So, start looking for other authors or books that teach the same subject but in a different way. Then choose the one that completely resonate and blend with your understanding.

If the voice of one author could not resonate with you, find another, then another. Keep on searching, keep on learning, and keep on doing until finally what you are trying to uncover will begin to make sense.

Then use it to shift your life in the direction you want to become.

Increase Your Productivity by Applying the Philosophy Behind “Falling in Line”

In life, we all fall in line.

When we go to the grocery store, when we pay our bills, when we fill our gas tank, when we go to the bank, when we go to the cafeteria, and even when we go to the rest rooms.

If there is a crowd and the place couldn’t accommodate everyone at the same time, falling in line is the only option to address this.

Falling in line assures everyone gets equal treatment. No matter what our status in life is, we fall in line. First come, first served, everybody waits for their turn.

Exceptions do happen eventually. We give exceptions to senior citizens and to people who are disabled. And in certain occasions we give exceptions to certain noteworthy people. They don’t fall in line but instead we allow them to be ahead of the line.

There is a philosophy behind this co called “falling in line.” Subtle it may seem but there is a great lesson to be learned from this philosophy. The philosophy of treating every task that comes in our way equally.

Everyday we encounter various tasks. These tasks can come from work, business, school, community and home.

We are overwhelmed with our everyday tasks. And here, we can apply the lesson of “falling in line.” If we complete our tasks chronologically from what was given first to what was given last, just like falling in line, we will double our productivity.

In order to improve productivity, we must not choose what goes first or what goes last. We must not choose what is fun, what is tedious and what is mundane. As soon as a new task is delegated to us, no matter how interesting and fun it is, we place it at the back of the line and let it sit there and wait for its turn.

We complete first what’s on top and move down to the next. One by one, we finish each task without deciding or choosing who comes next. Whether the task is fun, boring, tedious, mundane, dull, or lifeless, when it’s time for it to get its turn, we work on them first.

But just like in life, there will also be exceptions. A sudden request for report that is needed in the next hour, an assignment that must be finished asap or an emergency that needs to be addressed immediately, like a leak in your sink in the middle of the night. These tasks must be completed first.

Some people I know only work on the things that they find it fun and easy to do. They procrastinate on doing the things they find it boring, even if those tasks have priority over the ones that they choose to do. And things would get even worse if they totally forgot about it.

And when the deadline comes, they rush, and try to beat the deadline. In return, they make mistakes and at times make costly error. And because of this, the job is poorly done.

So, no matter how mundane and boring a task is, when it’s time for it to get served, serve it. Develop a habit for it.

Following this philosophy will assure you that there will be no forgotten tasks and eventually you will have a consistent increase in output and productivity.

How I Lost 30 Pounds in 4 Months Without Exercise While Eating the Foods that I Love

You don’t have to be at the right place at the right time to to start something. The place and time will never be prefect. No matter how untimely it is, start immediately as soon as you can.

Do you want to find out how I lost 30 pounds in 4 months?

Here is my story.

I always thought that my previous weight of 180 – 190 lbs. range was normal for my height of 5’7”.

Although knowing that this was normal, I still tried losing weight for a couple of years but failed.

The degree of my comfort zone was higher than the degree of my desire to lose weight.

This was about to change. In the middle of February 2020, my co-worker told me about the “Body Mass Index” (BMI). It is some sort of calculator wherein you will input your current weight and height. Then it will tell you if your weight is normal or not.

There I found out I was overweight. I was overweight by 25 lbs. I can’t believe it. All throughout those years I convinced myself that my weight was normal.

Unfortunately, it was the opposite. Probably this was the reason my blood sugar count was erratic and my blood sugar was always borderline.

I had to do something. I have to lose weight. My desire was so great I immediately took the first action. By doing this, I told myself, not only will I be improving my health, I’ll also be build self-confidence and self-esteem.

So, my journey to lose weight began. The foremost question I had was “how to lose weight fast?” I started searching for answers online, and my research took me to a certain type of diet — “the Keto diet.”

Below was my BMI, height — 5’7″ / Weight — 185 lbs. My BMI measured 29 which was considered overweight. My weight should go down to 155 lbs. to be normal. I was overweight by 25+ lbs.

What is a Keto Diet?

Keto diet is a high fat, moderate protein and low-carb diet. It actually restricts the consumption of carbohydrates forcing the body to burn fats.

This is the reason why it makes you lose weight fast. Undoubtedly, if your body starts using fats as its primary source of energy, losing weight becomes easy.

But before the weight loss regime, primarily, the Keto diet was first and foremost used to treat certain medical conditions. In the 19th century it was used to help combat type 2 diabetes. And in the 1920s it was used to treat epilepsy in children. (resource)

My Decision to Lose Weight

So, beginning March 2020, I followed the Keto diet.

The first week was difficult. During that period, I discovered that I was addicted to sugar. My cravings were terrible. I remember waking up early in the morning at 1AM very hungry. I almost ate rice but I controlled myself and munched on some cucumbers.

Another time my craving was so strong, I almost gave in. Fortunately I found some okra in the refrigerator, boiled them and finished it all (12pcs to be exact).

On the second week, the cravings become manageable. Cucumbers worked for me in fighting off cravings. So, I always see to it that there are always cucumbers in the fridge.

I Started to Lose Weight

On the first week of March, I lost 3 lbs. It’s not something to brag about but I was getting somewhere. By the end of March, I lost another 7 lbs, total 10 lbs.

I got fed up eating too much fats (Keto requires 70% of the diet) that I minimized my consumption. Instead, beginning the month of May, I changed my diet to a low-carb diet. So, for the month of May I followed strictly the low-carb diet.

I ate poultry, pork, beef and fish. I ate veggies and fruits low in carbs. That became my diet. The only source of fat comes only from whatever is laid in front of me. But I make sure there is always protein in my meal.

I eat when I am hungry. When I feel like eating, I just munch on cucumbers for snack. I’m not picky with the food I eat. I am not a fan of organic blah blah blah. In my opinion these are just marketing hype. But it’s your choice if you believe otherwise.

Little by little, my diet became part of my lifestyle. Soon my subconscious mind has adapted to protect me from eating carbs and sugar. Soon, before I buy or consume anything, I always check their nutrition facts. If it’s within my daily budget (50–80 grams of carbs per day), I eat it. If not, I discard it.

The cravings have not totally left me. I was a pasta lover, and that is one thing I am going to miss, and I will miss. But the rest, I can live without.

With this being said I bid farewell to veggies and fruits high in sugar. I said goodbye to rice, bread, cakes, ice cream, pastries, chips and all the foods that are high in sugar.

Instead, pork, beef, chicken, fish, seafoods and veggies and fruits which are low in sugar stayed in my diet. I also welcomed bacon, hot dogs, spam, ham and other processed foods that others consider unhealthy. I don’t eat them often though, but I will eat them if I got the chance to.

My diet consists primarily of protein and fiber. The fat will just come from the meat, veggies and fruits that I eat. If there’s none, then there’s none. Although I supplement my fat intake with almond milk, mayonnaise and heavy cream.

And guess what, by end of May I lost another 15 lbs. Unbelievable you might say but this got me worried a bit.

I Lost 30 Pounds in 4 Months

I continued my low carb diet. By the end of June, I lost another 5 lbs. Suddenly I panicked. What if I keep on losing weight? This is bad I told myself. I was really worried.

Why? Because I keep on losing weight.

Then I realized that I lost so much weight because my body is burning all the fats in my body. And since I am not consuming the required 70% fat. My body has no choice but to use protein as a source of energy as well.

Still, gotten used to with my new lifestyle, I continued what I was doing – low carb diet. After two weeks, finally my weight plateaued. I lost a total of 30 lbs. in 4 months and my body has found its place.

I am happy with it, and I am going to live with it.

I strive to be as normal as I can, so I started using sugar alternatives. I tried Erythritol, Stevia and Splenda. They are all good but the taste that is closest to sugar is Erythritol. I also started using almond flour to bake pastries every once in a while.

It’s now September 2020 (at the time of this writing) 7 months since I started my low carb diet. I feel great and energetic. I am a runner. But I stopped in February because of the COVID-19 pandemic. In August, I started running again. Surprisingly, my speed in running increased. I couldn’t imagine I was running 30 lbs. heavier before than my current weight.

Don’t Be Affected by What Others Will Say

I keep on getting negative comments from other people that artificial sweeteners are bad. Normal fats and saturated fats are bad. I never argue with them, it’s their belief and any argument will go nowhere.

I don’t want to call them naive but honestly, when it comes to sweeteners, they have been consuming it since the day they started brushing their teeth.

Toothpaste contains artificial sweeteners unknown to most people. Where would it get its sweetness if its sugar free? You may argue that certain toothpaste have no sweeteners, but I tell you most major brands contain them.

So, if you have been using the branded ones, then you have been eating these sweeteners. But don’t worry it’s totally safe. The damages brought by real sugar will wreck more havoc than these sweeteners.

You see. The belief that sugar is safe for our health is totally ingrained to most people’s belief. It’s in our subconscious mind. If that belief is challenged, it would defend itself. But try changing it and the newly formed belief will change your lifestyle.

Let me explain.

Buddhist don’t eat meat, Muslims don’t eat pork, atheists don’t believe in god, etc. These are just few samples of what we call beliefs, and it is very difficult to change them.

I was made to believe that saturated fats are bad. That was my challenge when I followed the keto diet. But with a leap of faith, I went all in keto diet.

And surprise, surprise, I lost weight consuming mostly fats during my early days in losing weight. My sugar count went down and my hypertension improved. I couldn’t believe it, but a new belief in my mind was formed.

Slowly this belief propagated in my subconscious mind. And currently, it would definitely protect itself when it is challenged.

So screw what other people will tell you. Most of them, trust me, are unhealthy people. people who are suffering from diabetes and hypertension and other sorts of obese related diseases. My take is if it’s doing you good, continue, if not then change it.

I don’t say that sugar nor carbs are bad. I’m not saying that carbs and fats don’t complement each other. What I am saying is everything should be eaten in moderation, and everything should be balanced. If not, then the effects are detrimental to one’s health.

I’m not that guy who can follow a balanced diet. Nope, I’m not. The last time I ate rice, I ate 4 cups of fried rice. I just can’t control myself. Knowing that sugar is highly addictive, I just can’t eat a well-balanced diet.

It’s either I completely give up eating carbs and be healthy, or I eat carbs uncontrollably and be unhealthy and live a sluggish and unhealthy lifestyle.

Now it’s your turn

Losing weight fast even without exercise is very possible. I am a living witness to that. It just takes effort in changing your belief. But once you have eliminated the myths that your subconscious mind was made to believe, everything will be easy.

This is not just my story. I do hope it will serve as an inspiration and it eliminates the myths that you were made to believe.

If you are overweight (measure your Body Mass Index), you have to do something. I am in my forties and before I changed my diet, I wasn’t feeling very well. I felt bad stuff which I always attribute to old age. Joint aches, knee pains, muscle pains, etc.

But now, after changing my lifestyle, after losing weight, I feel younger, better and healthier.

Do it!

Lastly, this story is not an advice. You have to make up your own mind with what you want to do with your life. If you have reached this point, then I know you are motivated to do some changes in your life. So take action and do it.

If you’re overweight or if you are not happy with your weight you have a choice. You have to make a decision. If you can’t follow a well-balanced diet, you should do and change something.

Health should be the foremost investment you give yourself. Money should only be secondary. What is a million dollars’ worth if you’re stuck in a wheel chair carrying an oxygen tank and suffering from diabetes and hypertension.

Whatever that choice is, do it now, decide now and move on; unstuck your life.

Time is too precious to be wasted.

5 Reasons Why It Pays to Do More than What You Are Paid For

I TRIED CHANGING THE WORLD AND I FAILED, I TRIED CHANGING MYSELF AND I SUCCEED THEN THE WORLD CHANGED BY ITSELF.

Jenson Nicodemus

– JENSON NICODEMUS

“Something is not right,” you say to yourself.

You’ve worked so hard, but you didn’t get the promotion your newly hired coworker did. You’ve almost spent your whole life working for this company, yet you are still where you were when you got hired.

It hurts, especially if they only gave you a 20 cents increase this year. You keep on wondering why you’re stuck.

Unknowingly, just by understanding and applying one simple universal law, you can unstuck yourself and change your life for the best.

They call it the universal law of compensation.

It states that you will be compensated exactly for the efforts that you contributed; no more no less.

So if you want to succeed and be compensated more in life, then you have to do or give more than the compensation that you are receiving.

Sounds good to be true?

But it’s true. It happened to my life, to other people’s lives, and it’s still working for me today. This is one self-improvement you should implement in your life.

Here are five reasons why it pays to do more than what you are paid for.

You Advance Faster in Life

Image for post

I started at the bottom when I entered the corporate world. Fresh out of college, my first job was a warehouse clerk.

It was a habit of mine to finish pending tasks that I could accomplish within the day. I will finish them before I leave, even if it means extending work without pay because some companies don’t allow overtime.

In short, unknowingly, I was working more than what I was paid for. I nurtured this habit and kept doing it as the years passed. Some of my coworkers would comment negatively on what I was doing.

“You’re out of your mind, working without pay,” they would tell me.

I just dismissed them and continued. I am now Manager as I write this article, and most of my coworkers who gave those negative comments are still where they were when I left them.

You’re Always in Demand

Image for post

When you do more than what you are expected, you choose to perform better. And ultimately improve the quality of your work regardless of how much you are earning.

These are the qualities employers are looking for. These people will get the promotion and salary raise faster than anyone else.

However, people who choose financial rewards over the quality of their work will not succeed in life. I’ve observed this, and I have seen it happen over and over again.

They measure their work with the compensation that they receive. They grumble and complain all the time. Hence their quality of work is degraded, and they get stuck to where they are.

So, if you want to become a sought after employee, then work and deliver more than what is expected.

You Learn New Skills

Image for post

When you improve the quality of your work, you need to learn new skills to increase your productivity.

By learning new skills, you will be able to accomplish more in less time than expected. You will be able to focus on other things and learn new things. You can soon start accepting additional responsibilities.

Your superiors will notice this, and you will always be on their top list when the next salary raise is given. Not only that, if you get good at your job, words will spread to other companies, which may land you higher and bigger opportunities.

You Become a Creative Genius

Image for post

My mentor, whom I’ve worked with several years ago, told me the secret of his success. He was, by the way, the youngest Controller the company ever had.

He went on telling me, “Always be creative.” When you are asked to do something, give more than what they asked you for.”

“If someone is asking you for a burger, be creative and serve it with fries and sundae to make the meal more attractive,” he said. “Doing this will guarantee your success in life.”

I got his point and practiced his advice to this day. In short, when we do more than what we are expected to do, we become creative to improve the quality of our work.

So instead of submitting a single page year-to-date income report to your superiors, add graphs, monthly trends, highlights, explanations, and analysis.

There Will Be Better Opportunities

Image for post

When I got the position as Manager, my salary increased by two-fold. Surprisingly, I didn’t even apply for the job. It was offered to me.

This was a miracle for me way back then. On that same day before the managerial job offer came, I resigned from my current employer.

Some misunderstanding issues with the top management forced me to quit. I’ll be jobless soon, I thought, and I don’t have the faint idea where will I go. I know God will provide, so I just sent my resignation and quit.

I felt better, although I was worried and concerned because I was jobless on my effectivity date. Then surprisingly, the job offer came.

When I got aboard on my new job, my superior told me he was looking for the right candidate and did his homework well. Among the people whom he shortlisted, I was the one whom he chose because two of my previous bosses told him positive things about the way I work.

Take Action and Start Applying This To Your Life

Image for post

Do you have a day time job? Try to focus more on your work and try to accomplish as much as you can. Submit reports earlier than their usual due dates. Avoid beating deadlines. Make this a habit, and I assure you, you will be greatly compensated.

The compensation may not be immediate. It may not happen on your current employer, but trust me, your rewards are being deposited someplace safe, and soon, you will receive them in the near future.

On the other hand, do you have a business? Provide more service than you usually do. Make your customers satisfied and happy. Successful business owners know this, and they assure their customers 101% satisfaction.

It’s quite amazing how one simple action can change your life. So start implementing it today, and you will be surprised as it opens doors to opportunities you have never dreamt of.

How to Deal with Alcohol Withdrawal Symptoms

0

If you or someone you care about has a drinking problem, learning how to stop drinking may not be a simple process. Not long after someone quits drinking, they may suffer alcohol withdrawal symptoms. There are ways to recognize these things and deal with them with a bit of humor. Although drinking is certainly no laughing matter, if you approach it from the lighter side, it can sometimes be easier to deal with.

My father was an alcoholic. He was able to stop drinking because of stroke, fortunately he recovered without any difficulties and didn’t suffered severe withdrawal symptoms from alcohol aside from depression which did not last long. Alcohol withdrawal symptoms may vary to each individual and it will also depend on how long the person has been drinking. The following outlined withdrawal symptoms below are the most common side effects. Although not all are life threatening but the moment things become serious, you must seek medical assistance immediately.

Common Alcohol Withdrawal Symptoms

Below you will find a list of common alcohol withdrawal signs and symptoms. Like I previously mentioned, they may or may not be serious or life threatening. But the longer the alcoholic has been exposed to this addiction, the more these signs and symptoms become complicated.

  • Anxiousness
  • Confusion
  • Depression
  • Diarrhea
  • Euphoria
  • Fear
  • Gastrointestinal upset
  • Hallucinations
  • Headaches and Migraines
  • Heart Palpitations
  • Hypertension (High Blood Pressure)
  • Insomnia
  • Irritability (Mood Swings)
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Panic Attacks
  • Restlessness
  • Seizures and death
  • Sweating
  • Tremors
  • Weakness

Control Your Cravings

The foremost withdrawal symptom you will feel of course is cravings; you may go through very intense cravings for a drink. These cravings can sometimes be difficult to deal with, as they can be physical as well as mental. A good way to deal with these issues is to distract yourself. In other words, do something that will take your mind off the cravings, until they pass.

In most cases, try not to pick a fight with your spouse, to distract yourself from cravings. The added stress may actually increase cravings. Not only that, men may sometimes develop a nasty headache (that can come from a well placed skillet or thrown object).

Exercise can be a very good way to deal with the stress that comes from cravings. You might go outside and decide to start walking. If you are in good enough shape to run, this can be a very good way to distract yourself. Make yourself so tired that you do not have the energy to drive to a liquor store.

Sometimes you have to find the motivation to run or jog fast. Here is where picking a fight with your spouse may actually be beneficial. You might try saying something really nasty to your significant other and then walk out the door. When you have a spouse with a nasty temper, you may find yourself running and hitting the road in no time (LOL).

Serious Health Issues After Quitting Drinking

Thousands of people who have drinking problems and who are considered alcoholics have quit successfully on their own without any medical assistance. These people have been treated normally on their own initiative and from the support of their loved ones, friends, peers, and groups like AA. Others have utilized books, information from the Internet, Websites, Forums, Blogs, exercise, therapies, etc. But if you or someone whom you know is suffering from any serious health illnesses or severe depression after quitting drinking, please do seek medical assistance.

When you have been drinking for years and you suddenly stop, it can be a serious health hazard. Always seek medical care, when quitting after many years of abuse. Your body and liver may go into shock, and you will need medical care for a while. Here are signs that you should look for.

You might suffer with shakiness and anxiety. You could feel physically ill and very sick to your stomach. You might sweat a great deal and you could have difficulty sleeping and may exhibit mood swings. Depression may also develop so it is best that you go out with friends or loved ones or you may start joining groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA).

Another thing to watch out is blood pressure. Once a person has been drinking for a period of time and then suddenly stops, his blood pressure will rise. Because of this, it is advised to seek medical assistance especially if the person who wants to quit drinking have been abusing alcohol for years and may have health problems.

Other signs of something serious are hallucinations, nightmares and developing a state of confusion or panic. You could have a fit similar to a seizure, in some cases. When these things happen, you should seek medical help as soon as possible, as it can be a life threatening situation. A good rule of thumb is, if you do not feel right, talk to a medical professional.

Summary in Dealing with Withdrawal Symptoms

Sometimes a bit of humor may help you get through those cravings for a drink. However, alcohol withdrawal symptoms are no laughing matter. You could feel physically sick and be very shaky and anxious. You also may break into a sweat and develop insomnia. If you have problems like seizures or hallucinations, you need to seek emergency medical care, as soon as possible. It is not easy to quit drinking, and you may need to do everything that you can, to pull yourself through it.

Don’t be afraid of these symptoms, they will not last forever. You need to persist in order to succeed. And as soon as your body recovers you will enjoy life as you used to be before you started drinking. Don’t doubt what you are going to to do, you are doing the right thing, stop alcohol abuse today!

Everything is not too late – everything is not yet lost. Regain back your life’s freedom. Start building your self-confidence and self-esteem.

Failed Relationship: 7 Reasons Why It is Foolish to Get Your Ex Back

0

Your relationship turned sour and your partner dumped you. You feel the pain and you are in agony.

What popular songs make people cry when going through a breakup? If you were a little curious, Spotify has a popular playlist of 111 breakup songs with over half a million fans.

The description on the playlist is literally “songs to cry to when you break up.” It’s interesting because it says a lot about how we deal with the emotional pain of a breakup.

Normally, we try to avoid the cause of our pain. But when it comes to relationships, humans are weird. Against our better judgment, we will poke and prod the cause of our pain again and again. We will even take our “exes” back even it will result to the same painful experience — sometimes more than once.

So, why is it so hard to let go after a breakup? Well, it’s not your fault. It is actually your brain’s fault. Or specifically, the way we are wired to love, which keeps us connected to our ex-lovers even after they bid their “farewell” and utter the dreaded words: it’s not you, it’s me.

Our brain creates a link between an event and the emotion of that moment. It’s how we develop habits. When you have a strong reaction to an experience, the connection between emotion and event is strengthened in your neural pathways.

That’s why it’s easier to remember your crush from 3rd grade than the sandwich you had for lunch. The more passionate the relationship— or, the more painful the breakup –, the easier it is for your brain to remember.

In a breakup, you can choose one of two ways to move forward — get on with your life, or get your ex back. I would argue that it’s better to move forward even if that’s the more difficult path.
If you’re rolling your eyes now and saying that’s easier said than done, keep reading.

Here are 7 reasons that will convince you that it’s stupid and foolish to get your ex back.

You’ve dodged an addiction.

Love and drugs have two things in common. They activate the same feel-good receptors in our brain that reward us with pleasure and relieve pain. And in their sudden absence, both love and drugs cause extreme withdrawal symptoms.

In a substance addiction, during the withdrawal stage, the person may suffer sleepless nights, despair, and physical pain. It’s the same thing with love addiction. There is no difference from staying up late, thinking about your ex while you’re clutching your heart and crying, wishing he/she would come back?

Addiction is the inability to stop doing an activity or consuming a substance that’s harmful to you. When you take your ex back, you’re reinforcing a pattern of unhealthy pleasure-seeking and pain-avoidance behavior.

Your ex hasn’t changed.

And neither have you. When the relationship ends but your feelings haven’t changed, you might idealize your former lover’s good attributes while ignoring the reasons you broke up.

But if you’re still clinging to the possibility of reconciling, it’s safe to say that not enough time has passed to change both of you. Getting back together without a better understanding of your issues will only lead to the same outcomes.

The definition of insanity is doing the same things over again while expecting a different result.

You’ll have the mental bandwidth to learn more about yourself.

We underestimate the impact of relationships on our personalities. Your partner sees you in a certain way, and with enough time, you will internalize their perception of you. How your partner thinks of you becomes part of who you are.

When you break up, you may doubt yourself or question your identity. Getting back together will only make this confusion worse. So, take the time to get to know yourself. This time, do so without your partner projecting their ideas of who you are or should be.

You’ll open yourself up to other experiences.

Intimate relationships sometimes take over your entire life. Some couples begin to develop the same habits, hobbies, and even have the same circle of friends. While familiarity makes you feel secure, it also stifles new experiences. So if you’re interested in personal growth, ask yourself if there are experiences you want to have that may be getting back together will prevent you from experiencing?

You’ll regain your personal power.

It is devastating when your partner breaks up with you. For you, it’s probably a surprise. But they’ve probably been working up the nerve to tell you. Your ex may have rejected you, but they can’t take your power away.

Getting back together, especially if the relationship had been toxic, implicitly allows them to reject you again. So, be the kind of person who knows their worth and does not apologize for sticking to their guns.

You’ll start healing emotionally, physically, and spiritually.

Breakups may be traumatic and painful, but there’s a silver lining to this. It could be the catalyst for a change you desperately need but can’t articulate. A breakup could be the beginning of an emotional detox to start healing yourself. Some people lose weight after a breakup or take on new hobbies.

A detox works the same way whether you’re eliminating the bad stuff from your gut or your emotions. You go through a stage when you can’t live without the bad things. But when the gunk leaves your system, you immediately start feeling better. So ride it out and don’t take your ex back.

You will thrive better without your ex.

Taking your ex back may be the salve that soothes your emotional pain now, but it’s only a temporary fix. Your well-being shouldn’t depend on your ex-lover taking you back. You may get together again, but there’s no guarantee the relationship will go smoothly.

If you’re constantly trying to protect yourself from the future possibility of another breakup, you’re not living in the present. You’re living in the past. You cannot thrive when you’re constantly trying to protect yourself.

So, should you take your ex back or move on with your life?

This is a nuanced question and something that only you can answer.

But important things must be done first. You need to fix yourself and that is a high priority. Right now you’re undergoing a terrible withdrawal period and you need to fight and remove this addiction. Remember, you are not in debt with your partner and you owe him / her nothing.

Who knows right after this withdrawal, you will realize you don’t need your partner at all in your life.

For the next 30 days forget about your ex and start caring for yourself. Let the withdrawal symptoms die.

If you’re considering getting back together, it’s best to do so when you’re grounded and joyful. It’s best when you have conquered your addiction. Self-improvement must be your utmost priority.

This way, you’re attracting positivity into your life. By doing this you unstuck your life. No matter what your reasons for taking your ex back, it’s always a good idea to do so out of love and not out of addiction.

Overcoming Failure: Failing Your Way to Be Successful

Are you suffering from failure? It hurts doesn’t it.

Each time your memory replays the event, the feeling of regret kicks in and then you feel the pain.

Failure causes emotional pain. Whether you flunked an exam, a partner left you or you didn’t achieve what you were expecting.

It puts you in a dark and self-deprecating place. And if left unchecked, it can affect your entire life including your future.

Have you ever wondered why other people are better than others with what they do? Many factors can cause this but one of them is failure. People who suffered more failures and have endured will come out better than the rest.

To make life easy. Start accepting that failure is a part of life. It’s also a part of success. Below are steps to help you in overcoming failure.

Accept Your Failure

There is no one to blame for your failure other than yourself. You made the decision to do it and no one acted on your behalf.

Acceptance is the first step in overcoming failure. Without acceptance, you will never move ahead. You will always be in chains if you try to run away and forget it. The past will always haunt you.

Grieve if you have to. Let your emotional pain out. You have to undergo the process of enduring the pain. Unfortunately, only time can cure and heal this malady.

If only there was a magical pill that will instantly remove the agony in failing, unfortunately there isn’t. In order to be successful, you must endure the lessons of failure.

Forgive Yourself

Once you have accepted your failure, don’t be too hard on yourself. You must learn to forgive yourself.

Everyone fails at one point in their time. Especially those people who are always pushing their limits; these people suffer the most failures than others. But these people are also the ones who succeed in life.

Don’t regret for doing something stupid because you learn from it. Regret for not doing something that you must have done.

There will always be another day. Forgive yourself from past failures, stand up again, dust yourself and move on.

Learn from Your Failure

“Failure is essential training,” says Sam Weinman, author of Win at Losing: How Our Biggest Setbacks Can Lead to Our Greatest Gains (TarcherPerigee, 2016).

Failure is a great teacher. Each time you fail, you learn something. It makes you stronger and wise. It teaches you to persevere. It will remind you of your past mistakes not to do them again.

Always remember, there is no success if there is no failure. Failure is the mother of success.

You will find countless stories of successful people who reached the point of giving up and or hitting rock bottom before they became successful. Those who learned from their failures and persevered usually succeeds in life.

Talk to Someone

Certain people cannot face failure alone. For them that is the hardest part. If you are one of these individuals, then you need someone to talk to.

If you are not comfortable talking to your close ones, there are people out there who can help. Don’t be ashamed. Don’t mind what other people might say.

We have different personalities and our levels of emotion differ. If you believe that talking to someone is the best way to overcome your failure, then do so by any means. Your life is too important to be impeded by what others will say.

It’s Not the End of the World

Hope is one of the greatest weapons we have in life. It gives us another chance. It tells us that another day is coming. And it gives us a sense of purpose and shows us that there are opportunities waiting for us.

Life will go on. Whether you like it or not. It will leave you if you don’t ride the bandwagon of life. Life is too short. Don’t waste your time on things that you can no longer change. It’s not the end of the world and it’s not the end of your life.

As long as you are breathing, there is hope. You still have a chance to carve your future the way you want it. So, stop dwelling in the past and proceed to the next step.

Move On and Succeed

Once you have accepted it, learned from it then it’s time to move on.

You are not a weakling. No matter how hard you are going through, you have to endure it. No one can take away your emotional pain. There is no magic pill that can eliminate it. Only time can heal it.

But once you’ve gotten over your failure, you will come out a better and stronger person. I’ve suffered a lot of failures over the years. I’ve reached the point of giving up and you can call me stupid but committing suicide at one point crossed my mind.

A bright and promising future awaits for you. You now possess the experience that other people don’t. This will help you move faster in your journey in life.

Failures are blessings in disguise. It builds your character. Gives you strength. It teaches you to become cautious. And points you to the right direction.

With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy (Desiderata).

Move on and unstuck your life!

Persistence is the Key to Success: Without it, You Won’t Succeed in Life

We all know that almost all successful people at one time almost conceded to defeat. But they did not. They persisted and they achieved their goal.

All of us are aware of this. Yet only a handful of people succeed in their lifetime. Even though the majority of people knows that persistence is the key, they don’t go out of their comfort zone.

Well of course we can’t blame them. We can’t force someone to change a person’s beliefs if that person is happy and content with where he or she is in life.

I guess, not all people are destined to achieve something great in life. This is the reason why they say, “you create your own destiny.”  No one creates it for you.

But what about you?

You are here reading this blog post right now. You have reached this point and I am damn sure you want to achieve something. I believe you are stuck and now is the time to unstuck your life.

Find what you most desire in life. Set your goals and plans. Any sound plan will do at the beginning. Don’t be too specific. Because eventually those plans will change along your journey. The important thing is you take action.

You must persist always if you encounter any defeat.

The Most Precious Resource We Have is Time

We are all given 24 hours each day.

Time doesn’t take sides nor play favorites. No matter what your status in life is, no matter who you are, you will be given 24 hours each day.

As long as you’re still alive, when you wake up, right in front of you, a full 24 hours for you to spend.

The question now is, “how will you spend that 24 hours?”

Will you use productively or would you just take it for granted and squander it knowing that there will be another day.

Assess yourself. Look at yourself. Are you happy with your current status or are you stuck like the majority of the people out there?

Isn’t it time to unstuck and improve yourself and start achieving your goals and dreams?

So, start planning your day and use your 24 hours wisely.

Work Hard, Save Hard, Persist Hard and Success Will Be Yours

Monday Motivation

The basic foundation of success is hard work, persistence, the habit of saving, and failure. I included the habit of saving because usually, success includes the accumulation of wealth. Without these four components, you will not attain success. Unless of course, you win the lottery which is another story.

These basic foundations can be accomplished by almost everyone. You only need a goal and a strong desire to achieve it. And that is your duty; to find what you desire most in life and to do everything at all cost to acquire it.

If you need it very badly, you will get it. So move and unstuck your life!

7 Reasons Why Happy Workers are Productive Workers

Imagine this. It’s 8 am on a workday. As you step inside the office, a wave of emotion floods over you. How do you feel about working today? Would you say you feel excited? Or perhaps you’re worried? Maybe even nonchalant?

The simple process of checking in with your emotions could predict how much you’ll accomplish in one day. Consequently, your persistent and dominant feelings about work will determine whether or not you succeed in that role. We know this because, in recent decades, a growing body of evidence is pointing towards a relationship between happiness and productivity.

Intuitively, we know happiness and productivity are linked. We are motivated to work, and we play better with others when we are filled with positive emotions. When we’re happy, we can find pleasure in even the most mundane of daily tasks.

You’re probably wondering: what is the link between happiness and productivity? Is happiness really the key to productivity? Well, the answer may surprise you.

Humans evolved with four hormones that play a major role in the success and happiness of our species. These hormones are endorphins, dopamine, serotonin, and oxytocin. Experts call them appropriately as the happiness or success hormones.

These hormones reward us with happiness when we do things that benefit ourselves and especially when we do things for others. Their existence explains why we can achieve greatness despite our fears and why we feel pride when we achieve our goals.

This may be hard to believe because work often leaves us feeling tired and defeated, but the truth is, our bodies are primed for happiness and success.

In this article, you’ll see 7 reasons why happiness makes us more productive. You’ll also understand how the four hormones work together to help us become happier and successful people.

Let’s dive in.

Happy workers bounce back quickly from adversity.

When happy workers experience failure, they don’t let the experience affect them negatively. Happiness makes them more resilient, allowing them to pursue their next goal without feeling stressed.

This happens because of endorphins, the happiness hormone that is also a natural pain-and-stress-reliever. Experts refer to endorphins as the determination hormone because it increases our drive for achievement and keeps us motivated.

Endorphins help us push past obstacles by tricking us into perceiving pain as pure pleasure. The phenomenon called runner’s high is one such example. Endorphins block pain receptors in the brain, giving runners a sense of euphoria so they can push past the muscle pain and get closer to the finish line.

Happy workers stay motivated to reach their goals.

Happy workers have clear goals, and they are relentless in tracking their progress. Crossing an item off their to-do list seems like standard practice. But some experts claim that seeing goals on a list and crossing them out when completed can boost happiness. This effect is caused by dopamine. The hormone experts refer to as the achievement hormone.

Dopamine is highly responsive to visual cues. When we see our goals, like the items in our to-do list, we feel a rush of dopamine. The dose is increased each time we look at our goals. Until finally, we are rewarded with a massive dopamine hit when we achieve the goal.

Happy workers work well with others.

Happy workers are more productive because they are comfortable working with other people. In fact, the third happiness hormone, serotonin, pushes us to extend ourselves and seek out other people. Why? Well, the reason is a little bizarre.

Unlike dopamine and endorphins, we can only produce serotonin with the help of other people. Serotonin is released in our bodies when we feel supported in a safe environment. For example, if our team has our back, we feel confident and less afraid to make mistakes. We could express ideas freely and reach for something bigger than ourselves.

Serotonin is also responsible for the pride we feel when our team recognizes our contribution. So, while personal goals give you a surge of dopamine and endorphins, achieving with other people makes you even happier because of serotonin.

Happy workers are generous of their time and energy.

Happy workers give more than they take, sometimes without expecting additional rewards or recognition. They do this because helping others feels good. When we perform acts of kindness and generosity, our body releases oxytocin, the most powerful of the four happiness hormones. Interestingly, oxytocin is released even if we are only witnessing acts of kindness. We can feel happy just watching people around us being kind to each other.

Oxytocin helps a team bond with their leaders in the same way that children bond with their parents. It enables us to develop trust and friendship in the workplace. Like serotonin, we need other people to produce oxytocin. But unlike serotonin, oxytocin develops over time. We don’t trust and bond with others in just a few days. But nature is clever — small acts of kindness over a long period of time helps to build higher oxytocin levels.

Happy workers make better decisions and fewer mistakes.

Someone who is happy is more capable of making informed decisions. We’ve already seen the importance of feeling safe and supported by the people we work with. Happy workers focus on doing a great job rather than feeling afraid of committing blunders. On the other hand, someone who is unhappy could lose sight of the bigger picture and make poor decisions.

Happy workers are healthier.

Experts agree that happiness boosts the immune system. When you’re healthy, you will be present at work more often and have the energy to produce quality work.

On the other hand, unhappy workers are more likely to suffer the effects of the stress hormone, cortisol. Cortisol is the hormone responsible for the fight or flight response. When cortisol is present in the system, the immune system shuts down, and the organism’s growth is stunted.

When workers are exposed to prolonged stress at work, their cortisol levels rise but never drop. Experts have already established that sustained levels of stress lead to chronic illnesses.

Happy workers have mental clarity.

Two of the biggest companies in the world, Apple and Google, are known not only for great products; they’re also known for their investment in employee well-being.

Happy workers can be innovative and imaginative because their minds are free from distraction. It is easier to get into the zone and easier for ideas to flow in a mind that is calm and receptive. As a result, the employee can focus all of his mental faculties to the task in front of him.

Conclusion

Happiness comes in many forms. It can feel like safety, belongingness, the absence of stress. Likewise, the evidence of productivity isn’t always easy to pinpoint. Some employers measure productivity by the output produced, the numbers on their bottom line, or the tasks completed.

Regardless of measurement, many companies are already investing in employee happiness. Are you one of them? If not, what would you do to make yourself and your employees feel happier at work? The rewards for investing in happiness may be a surge in productivity. Or it could just be a feeling of happiness every time you step into your office.

10 Guaranteed Steps to Lose Weight Using the Law of Attraction

“The only thing standing in the way of your ideal body weight is your belief that you are struggling to get there.”

That was the advice that turned my fitness journey around and changed my life just a few years ago. I tried diet pills, meal plans, and exercise DVDs to lose weight. I tried beating my body at the gym, drinking detox teas and fasting once a month. A few pounds would come off only to come back after a few weeks.

Then one day, after researching the Master Cleanse Diet, I tried drinking one quart of salty water. Of course, it was another failure, I couldn’t keep it down.

I called my coach, crying and desperate for help. I was ready to give up on trying to lose weight.

My coach must have known I’ve reached a turning point because he told me the one truth that needed to hear that day: I had misunderstood the Law of Attraction.

I visualized the body I wanted, and I believed I could get what I want. But when my ideal body didn’t manifest, I felt desperate and decided that the Law of Attraction doesn’t work.

My coach reminded me that day exactly how the Law worked.

  1. The Law of Attraction matches your emotional energy. You will notice things and experiences that are a match to how you feel.
  2. Emotion arises from your thoughts. If you think that losing weight is difficult, you will constantly struggle. The Law of Attraction will show you experiences that confirm your belief.
  3. The Law of Attraction manifests effortlessly. Follow the path of least resistance, and you will start to see the results you want. When you struggle to achieve something, you will come up against more challenges.

The AHA moment for me was this: I could enjoy the process of losing weight, or I could kick and scream while feeling like a victim of my weight. Either way, the Law of Attraction will continue to give me things that match how I feel.

Just when I was about to give up, the Universe sent someone to help me, and so I’m paying it forward today. In this article, I am going to share the exact step by step process I learned from my coach that helped me lose the weight and kept it off. Understanding the Law of Attraction has helped me maintain my weight today.

The 10-Step Weight Loss Strategy Using The Law of Attraction

Act and feel as though you already have the health and body that you want.

You may have heard some Law of Attraction gurus say these words: Do. Be. Have.  This is what they actually mean: How would you feel when you have what you want? How would you feel when you fit into those skinny jeans? How would a healthy person decide between processed food and a salad for lunch?

Model your behavior on how someone in great health would think and act. Imagine what a healthy body will allow you to do and what decisions you would make if you were that healthy person. Then, just do it.

Spend 10 minutes daily, visualizing your future self.

It seems difficult to imagine how you would feel about something that hasn’t happened yet. That’s why visualization is so important. Visualization simulates the feelings of already having the health and body that you don’t have yet.

The Law of Attraction moves through space and time using emotional energy. Physical beings, like us, can create this energy through our thoughts. When you focus on the face of someone you love, you feel immense joy. When you think about something you hate doing, you feel upset.

So focus only on images that make you feel good. If imagining yourself wearing that beautiful dress makes you feel good, then keep thinking of that.

Tune in to your hunger.

When you are hungry, don’t ignore it or worry that you can’t stop eating. Tune in to your hunger and ask yourself if you need food or need to feel good. If you’re depressed and reaching for food to feel better, the Law of Attraction will give you more of the same experience.

You can break the pattern of emotional overeating by paying a little more attention to how you feel. Recognize that sometimes, hunger is not about the need for food. Establish self-discipline. Control your cravings. Eat healthy fillers or snacks like cucumber. Be creative.

Change how you feel about your environment.

The food in your kitchen, the places you go to for lunch, and the things you do for fun — all of these experiences affect how you feel. Think about what your weekend looks like and ask yourself if what you do in your spare time supports your desire to be healthy. Look at the food stored in your pantry and ask yourself how you feel after you eat them. If certain foods make you feel guilty, just get rid of it, so you don’t have to resist eating it.

Change your expectations about your weight.

Are you constantly worried about how food affects your weight? Spend some time thinking about that and notice the emotional energy you are putting out. Your desire to lose weight and your actions must be in alignment. In other words, you can’t lose weight if you’re obsessing about it daily. I’m not saying don’t track your weight. Rather, ask yourself this: how do you feel each time you step on the scale?

Practice gratitude daily.

Law of Attraction teachers preach this all the time because it works: when you feel grateful, there is no space for fear. Fear and worry about your weight will only bring more of the same feelings.

To shift your emotions from fear to joy, think about what you’re thankful for. You may not be at your ideal weight yet, but you have the chance to do something about it today. Be grateful for that, and find more things to be grateful for every day.

Create a list of things that will instantly shift your mood.

Science has established that there’s a link between weight gain or weight loss and depression. We turn to food for comfort, and it’s hurting us.

Give your mood a boost by turning to a list of things that make you happy. Prepare a list of 10, 20, or 100 things that you love. Meditate on each one and observe how your mood shifts.

Everything is all about your mood. Your motivation, your confidence, your

Change your inner voice.

Positive affirmations are statements that help you overcome negative self-talk. Start to talk to yourself positively. Appreciate your body, notice the things you love about yourself, and pat yourself on the back for taking steps to achieve a healthy weight.

Remember that emotion arises from thoughts. You can make a conscious decision to pay attention only to supportive inner self-talk.

Act in the direction of your goals without any effort.

The Law will deliver an exact match to how you’re feeling. When you struggle for something, guess what? You will constantly feel that you are having a hard time achieving what you want.

Let go of any resistance to eating the right food. Let go of any resistance to your exercise routine. Let go of any habit that doesn’t make you feel good. If going to the gym, leaves you unhappy, change it. Exercise must keep you excited to do it again the next day.

Be kind to yourself.

How do you feel when you see other people in great shape? There is no competition between you and other people. The only thing that matters is that you feel good about yourself. The Law of Attraction will give you a vibrational match to how you’re feeling, so your only goal is to keep reaching for the things that make you feel good, and the rest will follow.

Have you tried any of the steps above?

How will you change your attitude towards weight loss?

Losing weight is not primarily about shedding pounds or downsizing fats.

It’s about how we feel when we are in better shape. This feeling will eventually manifest, and we will achieve the body shape that we want.

So if you use the Law of Attraction for weight loss, remember to focus on feeling good instead of wanting to change what you see on the scale. The better you feel, the more effective it will be. So start losing weight today and unstuck your life.

7 Effective Steps in Using the Law of Attraction to Achieve Success

0

Success is everyone’s wish.

You will use every tool, tips, and tricks to achieve an abundant life. And one of these tools is the law of attraction.

The law of attraction is whereby you attract the things you want and think most about. In simple terms, the predominant thoughts of your mind will manifest. If you want an abundant life, in your thoughts you have to immerse yourself in success, feel it, allow it to happen, and in the long run, you will succeed.

This fascinating phenomenon first appeared in print in the late 19th century and has been there for ages.

The law of attraction has been widely discussed by notable authors like Napoleon Hill in Think and Grow Rich (download the book here for FREE), and Norman Vincent Peale in The power of positive thinking.

Understanding the Law of Attraction will bring wonderful things in your life. Below are steps in using it effectively.

Focus on success

The law of attraction is all about mindset and programming. Whatever you perceive, whether positive or negative, will have an impact on your life. To help you manifest abundance in your business, focus on the success.

Embody yourself and picture yourself as a successful person. Focusing on success and embodying yourself in that success will trick your subconscious mind and will help you put in more effort in your work and ultimately succeed. Make it a habit to focus on success every day as you go about your business.

To start with, you create a few minutes every day where you embody yourself in success. According to Oprah Winfrey- “The way you think creates reality for yourself.”

Exercise Gratitude.

Appreciating the little success in your business is vital to your ultimate success. List down the small success you achieve every day in your business.

Did you win more clients? Did you hit or surpassed your sales target? And so on. By doing so, you will be attracting success and abundance. Appreciating the little success will program your mind to attract a higher level of success.

Based on research done at Harvard, “gratitude is strongly and consistently associated with greater happiness.”

Gratitude produces good emotions and experiences, which, in return develops good relationships. It helps you to focus on what you have rather than focusing on things that you don’t have. It will only raise concerns and worries about things that don’t matter.

Use the power of visualization

You have to visualize your business success to attract it. Visualization is where you picture yourself as successful. How will your business be? Will it change your life? How will you feel emotionally?

Powerful visualization tricks your mind into thinking that you are already successful. Therefore helping you focus on doing things that will bring you the desired outcome.

Additionally, visualization helps you to stay positive and avoid negative thoughts. You can create a routine where you embody yourself in success and meditate on it.

Create Vision Boards

Creating vision boards is also another excellent way to attract success in your business. When you have the vision boards, you are not only making your desires real but also motivates you to work towards the desired achievement.

Vision boards are a representation of the attractions you are attracting in your business-this case, success. The boards can be in the form of graphics, collages, or pictures. Place the vision boards in a place where you can see every day until you achieve your desire.

These boards will act as a reminder of what you need to do to hit your goals.

Use Powerful Affirmation

Affirmations are positive statements, telling yourself that you already have the things you are trying to attract in your life. Create a statement that aligns with your goals and the things you want to achieve in your life. It is the power of positivity.

List down the things you want to happen to your life. Write them in a way that you already have them or experiencing them. Read them 3 – 4 times a day. Contemplate as you read with the feeling that you already experienced these things happening in your life.

The results may not be immediate. But keep on doing this, and you will be surprised if they eventually come true.

Focus on What You Want.

Negative thoughts creep in when you are facing different challenges in your life. Watch out for these thoughts because they can drain the positive things you want to attract.

Remember, acknowledge that negative thoughts are there and learn how to counteract them. Remember that one negative thought will draw another negative thinking, and soon you will plunge into the world of negativity. Take deep breaths whenever you feel negative and shift your mind to positivity.

Frankly, you don’t have to worry about these things. If you have your vision boards and definite chief aim, all you have to do is to look at them or read your affirmations. Focus on the success of your business during such situations.

Take Action

We’re now done with the fun part. Now let’s move to the most important and critical part.

The law of attraction was never meant to serve all the things that you want without taking action on your part. It will only give you in direct proportion to the efforts you put in.

You can dream all day in becoming a superstar, but if you are not doing anything to reach your dream, it will always remain a dream.

If you are lost on how to apply the Law of Attraction in your life, please read this article. It will show you step-by-step in doing it.

By following the first six steps, the Law of Attraction was supposed to provide you with ideas, sound plans, an unending supply of motivation, knowledge and the right connections. But, you will only receive these if you take action.

You may start with a plan at the beginning only to find out that there is a better way to do it. These are all part of the process. You will improve as you move along.

Understanding the law of attraction will bring abundance to your life. It may not make sense if at the beginning. Results may not come as expected but as you keep on applying it into your life, amazing things will happen if you will persevere.

7 Reasons Why You Need to Understand the Law of Attraction

1

You are the creator of your own reality. For most people, this knowledge is empowering. For others, it can be confusing.

The Law of Attraction Explained – You attract into your life those things that you always think about. It is a law that states that “like attracts like.” Every area of your life is affected by the dominant thoughts and beliefs in your mind both consciously and unconsciously.

So, how exactly can you create everything you experience?

The power that creates worlds and galaxies is the same power that allows you to create your own reality. This is the core teaching of the Law of Attraction. Some people will dismiss the Law as metaphysical pseudo-science.

However, ignorance of how the law works won’t stop it from existing. Gravity and electricity exist and they work whether or not you understand exactly how.

Your first encounter with the Law of Attraction will likely be the movie or the book called “The Secret”.  Or maybe someone mentioned the Law of Attraction to you and you got curious. For me, I experienced a dark night of the soul before I relented and studied the Law of Attraction.

Here are 7 reasons why it’s important to understand the Law of Attraction.

Reason 1:  If you understand the Law, you will recognize how the Universe fulfills your desires.

Ask and you shall receive.

The Law of Attraction is the power that brings you everything you want. You cannot misuse it because it works perfectly all the time. But you can misunderstand how it works and end up with experiences that you don’t want.  Oftentimes, we don’t know our heart’s desires until we are presented with the ones we don’t like.

When faced with challenges, your understanding of the Law of Attraction will keep you firmly focused on your goal. You’ll have the confidence to ask because you understand how the Law delivers. You will trust that what you asked for is already on its way to you.

Reason 2: The Law of Attraction guides you to your life’s purpose.

Follow your bliss.

Notice how you feel when you are doing things you love because this is the Law of Attraction at work. Your life’s purpose is the very thing you love to keep doing every day because it makes you feel good.

As you keep doing things that make you happy, the Law of Attraction will present you with more opportunities to keep doing more of that.

The signs will be very subtle, but if you know how the Law works, you will recognize the signs pointing directly to your life’s purpose.

Reason 3: You will no longer create mindlessly.

We reap what we sow.

If we don’t know how the Law of Attraction works, we will manifest things by default. How often have you heard someone say they don’t want what happened to them and yet the same things keep happening over and over again?

This is because we receive back from the Universe the things that match how we feel. So our feelings of fear manifest in our life as more fear. Fear of debt will show up as more debt.

If you understand the Law of Attraction, you will create with intention and purpose. Feelings of love create more love in return.

You will also see that by stopping a habit or thought pattern, you will create a different outcome. Consider someone who is utterly depressed. After a while, the depression affects his work and his family and takes over his life.

But the moment he decides to stop and redirect his energy into feeling better, he starts the process of lifting himself out of depression. The law works all the time to give you more of what you’re feeling.

Reason 4: You will experience more abundance and joy.

Because the Law of Attraction delivers more of the things you want to have, you will start to attract them into your life.  You’ll recognize that scarcity is an illusion. When you feel there is never enough, the Universe will confirm that belief.

Scarcity is not the reason you always lack something. It is the other way around: your feelings of insecurity and scarcity is the energy you give to the Universe. So it is the energy you receive in return.

Reason 5: You will take back your power as a creator.

Does it sometimes feel like things are just happening to you and you have no power to influence outcomes? Does it feel as if life is happening to you instead of you happening to life?

The Law of Attraction reminds us that we cause things to happen. We are not experiencers of effects; we are causers of effects.  When you understand the Law of Attraction, you will step into your power as a creator.

You’ll realize you can do something about the problems in your family and the world. You won’t be waiting around for events to happen. You’ll start co-creating them.

Reason 6: You will come to see the challenges in your life for what they truly are.

How do you feel about the difficulties in your life? Do you despair and give up or accept the challenges so you can grow?  When you understand the Law of Attraction, you will let go of struggling so much.

Exerting effort only causes more challenges to manifest. Instead, you will focus on the joy of solving problems and overcoming your circumstances.

One of my teachers used to say that life will only give you challenges that you can handle. It is how the Universe will test your ability to thrive in the face of adversity.

If you were in business struggling with financing problems, look to the bright side: this is the Universe checking in to see how you would handle more clients or more employees.

Reason 7: You will have the courage to go after your biggest dreams.

The Universe has your back. You will be given challenges that are a match to your abilities. You will be given opportunities to do what you love. The most successful people I know are the ones who took risks and faced challenges to deliver the most value to others.

The rewards they received in return were multiplied thousand times over. The Universe gives you back the energy and emotion that you send out and amplifies it. With this knowledge, won’t you have the confidence to go after your biggest and wildest ambitions?

Which of the reasons above did you resonate with the most?

Each of us has something that we are working to achieve. We can either achieve our dreams with the support of the Law of Attraction or reject the help of the Universe and do it the harder way.

The choice is yours.

8 Proven Strategies to Help Achieve Your Goals Faster

0

“Those who do not have goals are doomed to work forever for those who do,” Brian Tracy

Have you ever asked yourself what differentiates the people who achieve success from those who don’t?

One of the keys to be successful and to live a purposeful life is to have a goal. Whether in your business, personal growth, or career, a goal is what propels you to work towards success.

However, many people set goals yet somehow drop them down the road. According to research, only 8% of people who set goals achieve them.

The reason why most people fail to achieve their goals is the lack of effective goal setting strategies. It is not only about setting a goal but also taking action to achieve it.

What is a goal?

A goal is a person’s objective to achieve positive results within a given time frame.

Different people have their own distinct goals and visions.

Some are small goals like waking up early, while others are big goals, like increasing sales by 125%. Whichever type of goals you have, you need effective strategies to achieve them.

Examples of goals in life.

Business goals – This is where you want to either start a business, make more sales, or acquire a new client base.

Career and work goals – This applies to those who are employed. You might want to get a promotion, get higher pay, get a new job, or change your career.

Health and wellness goals – This is where you want to live a healthier life. It could be losing weight, quitting alcohol, quitting nicotine, or eating more healthy foods.

Personal development goals – Examples are learning a new language, learning to drive, or even get a degree in school.

Seven effective strategies for setting achievable goals.

Be SMART in Setting Goals

Brian Tracy International

Understand the Reason Behind Your Goals

Before you write down your goals, first understand why you need to achieve them.

Why are the goals so important to you, and what benefit will you get for crushing your goals? Interpreting the results of your goals will motivate you to work on achieving them.

If you are setting goals just so for fun or kinda competition against your neighbor, it ain’t gonna work.

To understand the goal results, you need to analyze your core values. Are you a leader who wants to take leadership to the next level?

A student who wants to excel in studies? Or a business person who wants to scale up their business. List down each of your core values and envision the results.

Will the results be worthwhile? Will you be proud to tell others that yeah! You worked smart to achieve those results.

Set Goals that Motivate & Inspire You

Another strategy to establish practical and achievable goals is to have motivating goals. Wouldn’t it be fantastic if you wake up every day excited to hit the next milestone in your purpose?

That is the power of goals that motivate you. Goals that you can’t wait to crush. Goals you can’t wait to achieve. You become obsessed with them. And you can only make this happen if your goals are aligned with things you love doing.

No challenge is big enough when you are inspired by your goals. With motivating goals, you know how to navigate problems down the road. You have a strategy in place to overcome blocks. To set motivational goals and crush them faster, you need to understand how the goals will change you as a person.

Tony Robbins – an American author and philanthropist, once said that “the purpose of a goal is not to get it, the purpose of a goal is who you become in pursuit of it.”

Create an Action Plan to Achieve Your Goals.

A goal without a plan is not a goal.

It doesn’t matter if you don’t have any sound plan to get to your desired destination. Write down what you think is the right way to achieve it.

You will stumble along the way. Fail many times. But each time you stand up, you revise your plans accordingly to succeed. That is the way how it works.

That is the reason why most successful people always advise you to find a mentor to lessen the mistakes that you will make.

So, if you want to save a specific amount of money within a given time, you should have an idea of how you are going to save that money, be specific. List down ways to achieve this goal.

It can include saving more from your salary, doing part-time jobs, online jobs, mowing your neighbor’s lawn, etc.

Set a Deadline

Effective time management is a key component to achieving your goals. Remember, you are working on smart goals that are time-bound. It’s imperative to have a deadline.

Having an effective time management system in place will help you crush those goals faster than you expected.

Learn about effective time management strategies and implement them to achieve your goal. You can use the quadrant time management system to identify the most important things you need to work on to achieve your goal.

Evaluate your progress

You need to evaluate each stride you make to achieve your goals. Evaluate what worked and what did not.

Change or improve your plans if they are not sound. Cast aside the ones that are not working and refine the ones that are working.

Identify the challenges you face and come up with solutions to resolve those challenges.

Having a system to help you track your progress will help you save time and resources and hit your goals faster.

Do more than what you are expected to do. Always finish things up far before the deadline. By doing so you will have more ample time to refine your plans and actions.

Draw inspiration from others.

You will always experience obstacles as you move along.

Goals can stretch you to the limits to achieve them. You need to put in more effort, raise the bar a notch higher, and in the process, you get encouraged.

To help you pull through those moments, you need to look up to those people who achieved success.

Get to know how they overcame the challenges and the strategies they used to crush their goals. Remember, “the darkest hour is just before the dawn.”

Take action!

The most important off all!

Without taking action you will always be where you are right now. No matter how life-changing your goals, if you keep on procrastinating, you will never move on in life.

I hate to mention this, but most (not everyone) successful people have experienced rock bottom at some point in time in their life.

This is what makes it difficult for people who are in their comfort zone to achieve success. Their comfort zone locks them inside a box. It hampers their personal growth, and they get stuck.

Sometimes a person or people close to you might push you to move on. It might be your wife, your daughter, your sibling, your parents, a relative or a close friend.

So find that goal or those goals that resonate with what you want to achieve in life, take action and unstuck your life.

7 Reasons Why Frugal People are Happy and Content and Why You Should Become One of Them

Always remember that walking is not a sign of poverty and having a car does not mean your wealthy!

When I was living a lavish life, I always made fun of frugal people.

I thought they were making sacrifices in life. They were not happy, content, and they were not enjoying life.

Unfortunately, I was wrong and it was just completely the opposite. Their life is far more promising than the life I lived before.

I was living a life with no savings. I had loans. I can’t afford to lose my job. In short, I was actually a slave.

It was this realization that changed the way I perceive about frugality and adopted it to my personal growth.

And life started to change when I started living amongst one of them.

You don’t need to be totally a frugal person to be happy and content. Just read the 7 reasons below and start adopting some of them in your life.

You will be astonished by how one single change can make a great impact on your life.

They Never Run Out of Money

I don’t mind if they make fun of me, call me frugal or cheap. The important thing is I have money and they don’t.

Obviously, frugal people always have money.

They don’t go broke because they save more than what they spend.

Their mindset is programmed to save money as much as they can. They try to defer spending until such time that it’s really necessary to buy the things that they need.

They are happy with what they have, and they are well trained to ignore what other people say about them. Even if others make fun of them. Because they know deep inside they live happy and content lives.

They Have the Option to Retire Early

A handful of frugal people I know, including my grandparents, retired early.

They were able to achieve financial independence at a very young age. They did this by saving money at a very early age.

Frugal people usually start saving at a very young age, although not all of them. Some people learn how to live a frugal life later on in life.

Those who started saving early in life can retire early. Although even for those who started saving late could still retire much earlier than those who are not preparing for their retirement.

So if you have not yet developed the habit of saving start soon, start today. And increase the amount of savings from your income. Start saving 10% and you will be amazed how fast your savings account grow.

They Have Peace of Mind

Early in my career, I experienced living from paycheck to paycheck.

I had no savings. I was a heavy smoker. I was buying things which are not really necessary. It was scary. It was only later on in life that I started saving money where I found peace. I started the habit of saving first before spending and I quit smoking.

Frugal people have peace of mind when it comes to their finances. They are totally prepared whatever financial problems that life will throw at them.

They are Creative People

Frugal people have to be extremely creative to live below their means while fully enjoying life.

They have mastered the art of recycling to use the things that can be used other than their original usage.

They always use discount coupons. They’re good at fixing things. Recycling instead of buying. Being content with gadgets or appliances that are old but still usable.

And budgeting a small amount of money to travel the places that extravagant people visit.

They Don’t Make Sacrifices (They Live a New Lifestyle)

For the majority, it takes sacrifice to live a life of frugality. To people who are not frugal, living this kind of life is difficult.

But to the frugal people, it isn’t considered a sacrifice, but instead, they consider it as living a life of fulfillment. Changing the way they live to create and live a new lifestyle.

They don’t care what other people think about them. All they care about is that they are happy and content with what they do. And what makes it more special is the amount of money they save.

They Live a Health Life

“Living far below your means” means spending just enough about everything. And this includes food.

My grandmother who was a frugal person always eats vegetables. Seldom do we eat red meat when I was young. It would take a very special occasion for us to eat what other people would consider delicious food.

But to my grandma, vegetables and fish for her are delicious food by definition.

She rarely eats red meat which she considers them expensive and useless stuff.

Well, she earned it and she lived to see her 97th birthday.

They Minimize Waste

Waste not want not.

Since frugal people are creative, they usually optimize resources before throwing them into the garbage.

They recycle a lot. They buy only the things that they need. They buy the only food that they will consume. They save, save and save.

This is where these special people shine. They rarely waste anything. They are good at drawing the line between things that can be used further and the things that have to be thrown away.

Now that you have a glimpse of how frugal people live, why not apply it in your life as well.

It would be difficult at first. Especially if living lavishly is deeply rooted in you. But do it one day at a time.

And soon even before you know it, your lifestyle will change for the best.

Go the Extra Mile – One Key Ingredient of Success No One is Telling You

What is the extra mile?

Extra mile is an idiom. A famous phrase which means to do more than what you are expected to do. It means doing extra effort with or without the intent of expecting anything in return.

It may sound foolish doing that extra effort without getting paid most of the times but trust me, if you want to succeed in life, you must always be going that extra mile.

Successful people are not content in just finishing something that they are expected to finish. They know that if they deliver more, the quality of their work increases and so its value.

People who deliver more are the ones who get promoted faster. They are on the top list when pay increases are being discussed.

It’s the same thing with entrepreneurs. The ones who deliver more quality gets more attention and loyalty from their customers.

Nothing beats Amazon.com in customer service. This online store has always offered cheaper quality products. And their “satisfaction guaranteed” is number 1.

When you start to develop the habit of going the extra mile, everything around you will start to change. People will notice the quality of work you are delivering. This will keep you on people’s top list if they need anything from you.

Especially in your job. Cultivate the habit of delivering more than what is expected. The results may not come in day one. But as you continue doing this, the quality of the way you work will spread.

If you are always delivering your reports on time. Doing more than what is necessary. Management will see that. And like I mentioned, you will be on the top list when promotions and raises come.

But what if there are no opportunities for climbing the ladder in your company. Well there are other opportunities out there. If you see that no one is leaving, and no new positions are created, start looking for another employer.

With your experience you deserve a promotion and a raise. Look for another job and if they do a background check, I’m pretty sure they will be encouraged to hire you.

I didn’t climb the ladder by working on one company. I transferred several times and each time I transferred was a new promotion for me. The quality of my work not only spread within the organization I worked for but to other companies as well. Going the extra mile is crucial for personal growth. It is a necessary component to become successful in life.
